Contact usOn November 10, 2023, the EU Official Journal published a detailed list of all public functions (C/2023/724) at the national level for each Member State, including positions within international organisations, EU institutions and bodies. This list outlines the definition of Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) within the EU as anyone holding a position listed in their respective national lists.
Globally, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as well as regional and national bodies like the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Authority (AMLA) and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) provide standards for identifying and managing PEPs to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing and uphold global standards in the fight against financial fraud and corruption.
Drawing on these authoritative inputs, we have established a unified PEP categorization that meets the diverse requirements of various jurisdictions. This robust framework enables effective identification and management of PEPs worldwide by supporting a risk-based approach, reinforcing our commitment to combating financial fraud on a global scale.
